Recycling At Earthplace: A Great Success

Staff Reports

Earthplace would like to thank the hundreds of friends and neighbors who brought their computers and documents to our "Prevent Identity Theft and Recycle Day." Together we recycled 5,500 pounds of paper and tens of thousands of pounds of computer equipment. These items will be properly reused and recycled instead of filling a landfill or going up in smoke.

We would also like to thank ComputerFox and Secure EcoShred for partnering with us in this much needed venture. Without these two companies we would never have been able to have such a successful event. We applaud them for their dedication to the environment.

I would also like to thank all volunteers, board members and Earthplace staff who used their muscles and backs to move all this material. A dedicated group of individuals working together can make a great and tremendous impact.

Together we were able to have a successful recycling drive, but much more needs to be done.

For more ways to help our environment consider:

- Joining us at our Green Earth Fair in April;

- Searching www.earthplace.org for more ideas, programs and events; and visiting us at 10 Woodside Lane (Westport) to connect with nature.
